FRADE is the result of Stockton-on-Tees faith communities’ practical response to poverty which existed in the community in the late 1980’s and early 1990’s.

An initial appeal for donations of furniture to support one family being re-homed in 1990 has led to what we are today – a significant provider of good quality, mainly pre-used household furniture to benefit families and individuals within the Tees Valley area, a provider of employment and work experience placements and a promoter of sustainable living.

Goods are sold through our shops at 68 - 69 Brunswick Street, Stockton, 14 - 16 Leadenhall Street, Darlington and 47 - 49 Wilson Street in *Middlesbrough and are open to the general public 9a.m. to 4p.m. Monday to Friday and 10a.m. to 3p.m. on Saturdays. *Middlesbrough shop opens at 9.30am

In addition to providing employment for 10 full-time workers we also receive help from ex-offenders, some of whom are still serving custodial sentences at the local resettlement prison and other completing community sentences.  We also welcome members of the local community to join us either for the benefit of social contact or to offer their unique skills for the benefit of the wider community.
